Welcome to Hirschsprung's Heroes Family Support Network

HD Heroes Family Support Network was established by the Jayme Chute. Jayme's husband Mike, and their youngest daughter Haylie were both born with Hirschsprung's disease.

Finding out your child has a congenital disease is both scary and extremely stressful. One in 5000 Canadian children are born with Hirschsprung’s Disease (HD) and will require surgery to survive.  A new diagnosis brings many questions and feelings of uncertainty. You are not alone.

Hirschsprung's Heroes Family Support Network represents all patients and families of the Winnipeg Children's Hospital, who span over Manitoba, Nunavut and parts of Northwestern Ontario and Eastern Saskatchewan.

We believe that networking with other families who have gone through similar situations, is a huge learning asset.  It can help prepare your family for some of the situations and feelings all of you will experience.

Along with providing support to our families, Hope for HD also provides fun family activities throughout the year to show our children that they are not alone and that there is more to life than being a patient.

Our Mission

We are dedicated to providing support and resources for families affected by Hirschsprung's disease. Our mission is to create a strong community where families can find comfort, guidance, and hope.
